M. Christina Carter is a Senior Associate specializing in Legal, Financial and Human Resources executive searches.
Experience
During her career as a lawyer, Christina practiced law with several national law firms, where she a specialized in Telecommunications regulatory and legislative matters and corporate transactional issues. As Associate General Counsel of Orion Satellite Corporation, Christina helped to structure the international partnership that built the first private worldwide satellite network system. Additionally, she has performed legal/financial consulting services for a variety of corporate Telecommunications, Common Carrier, Cellular, Cable, Paging and FM Radio clients. Christina has also published numerous articles on federal tax policy issues and Telecommunications legislation and regulations. She has co-authored a book titled “Consumption Taxes Promises and Problems.”
Prior to attaining her law degree, Christina worked as a senior level economist at the U.S. Treasury for the Under Secretary of Treasury specializing in Business Tax issues.
Based in the firm’s Washington, DC office, Christina conducts searches throughout the continental United States.
Personal and Professional Activities
During her 27 years in the greater Washington, DC area, Christina has been actively involved in a wide variety of public service organizations serving the local and national community. Most recently, she is a member of the Board of Directors of The Greater Metropolitan Boys and Girls Clubs, Girls, Inc., Childhelp USA, Second Chance Employment Services, Catholic Charities and the Children’s Legal Defense Fund. In addition to assisting these organizations with their fundraising and development efforts, Christina has worked closely with them on organizational restructuring issues to help address budgeting, financial and legal problems. Christina also has been involved in the District of Columbia public school system and the implementation of the Charter School movement in the city and is active in her children’s schools.
Christina earned a Juris Doctorate from the Columbus School of Law, Catholic University of America and is a member of the District of Columbia Bar Association and the Bar of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. Additionally, she holds a BS in Economics and Political Science with Masters Coursework in Economics from the University of New Hampshire.
