James "Jim" Keane is a Managing Director specializing in C-level executive, senior level financial, general management and professional services searches. During his career, Jim has focused primarily on the financial services industry, across corporate banking, alternative investments and private equity. He has global experience in financial management and investment operations and has worked extensively with both public and private sector clients in the areas of strategic planning, organization development, process improvement, and personnel development.

In his chief financial officer, operations and administrative roles, Jim managed the full range of corporate functional divisions, working extensively with Product, Sales, Marketing, Legal, Compliance, Operations and Technology, managing day-to-day and longer-term strategic business issues.

Experience
Jim has functional search experience in Financial, Audit and Risk Management, Accounting and Treasury Operations, Sales and Marketing, Operations Management and Chief Executive Officer roles. He has conducted searches in various industries including Manufacturing, Financial Services, Professional Services, Retail, Energy and major Consumer Packaged Goods. Within these industries, his clients include diverse manufacturing companies, leading professional services organizations, investment banks, branded apparel companies and major consumer goods distributors.

Jim also has a career of business experience across top-tier financial institutions. During his most recent eight years as Executive Director of Morgan Stanley, he successfully integrated eight distinct hedge fund businesses into the Morgan Stanley franchise. He also managed almost $3 billion of private equity for the Firm. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Jim held numerous CFO, controller, strategic planning and product manager roles within both Citibank and JP Morgan. At Citibank, Jim served as the Deputy Division Executive and was responsible for strategic planning across global regions, and earlier he served as the Controller of Citibank's Latin American Investment Bank, with direct responsibility for all financial, accounting, tax and regulatory reporting and planning across Citibank’s entire Latin American region. Jim commenced his professional career in public accounting as a CPA with KPMG Peat Marwick.

Based in the firm's New York City office, Jim conducts searches throughout the continental United States.

Personal and Professional Activities
Jim is a Board Member of Financial Executives International and has been a member of the New York State and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He also is on the Board of the Riverside Yacht Club and has served as Chairman of multiple committees with his local parish and community organizations.

Jim earned an MBA in Finance from the Hagan Graduate School of Business, Iona College and BS degrees in both Accounting and Computer Management from Fordham University. Jim's experience in both the public and private sector coupled with his knowledge of financial management has developed his understanding of business challenges at both the strategic and daily operational levels. He knows what it takes to run an organization, in terms of structure and people and to effectively support client search requirements.
