John Korbel is a Managing Director specializing in executive and senior level searches in risk management, financial leadership, technology, government contracting, business development, professional services practice leadership, higher education leadership and general management at the C-level. He has global experience in risk management and compliance operations and has consulted extensively with both public and private sector clients in the areas of strategic planning, organization development, process improvement, education and training and personnel development.

Experience
John has over 35 years of experience in operations management, consulting, public policy and university academics. Most recently, as a partner at one of the world's largest financial and management professional services firms, John served as Global Risk Management and Compliance Operations Leader. He also held leadership positions with this firm in learning and professional development and in development and leadership of the government consulting practice.

Prior to that, he held positions in both the legislative and executive branches of Federal government and began his professional career as a professor of economics at Middlebury College.

John's experience in both the public and private sector coupled with his knowledge of organization management has developed his understanding of business challenges at both the strategic and daily operational levels. He knows what it takes to run an organization, both in terms of structure and people and to effectively support client search requirements.

Based in Washington, DC, John conducts searches throughout the United States and globally.

Personal and Professional Activities
Throughout his career, John has been involved in a variety of community based organizations. He has served on the boards of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and the National Child Research Center. He is currently a Board Member of the Social Science Foundation, University of Denver.

John has a PhD and MA in Economics from the University of Colorado and a BA in History from Williams College.
